Live recording of RTÉ lyric fm's The Culture File Debate exploring how lives and creative practices engage with dynamics of restraint and release, the rewards of the quiet space of loud music, and the roles of quiet/loud in the contemporary attention economy.

 

Luke Clancy of Culture File chairs a panel featuring:

Paula Meehan: poet and playwright whose poem "An Eagle Feather" will have its World Premiere setting performed after the panel;

Siobhán Cleary: composer whose group, Evlana Ensemble, along with New Music Dublin, commissioned Stephen Gardner to set Meehan's poem;

John Godfrey: composer and academic who leads an ensemble called The Quiet Music Ensemble;

Christine Tobin: vocalist and composer whose work "Pseudologia Fantastica," combining spoken word and song, will have its World Premiere at New Music Dublin 2025
