New Music Dublin returns to the iconic Richmond Barracks with a first Irish appearance for this all-star trumpet ensemble! The Monochrome Project was founded by Marco Blaauw in 2015 to explore and demonstrate the sounds of the trumpet in all of its astonishing variety, by commissioning new work that takes this monochromatic ensemble and creates a spectrum of musical colour through all the means at its disposal. Expect to have your ears opened by these new works written for the ensemble, including the world premiere of N.N by Milica Djordjevic, and Call for the company, in the morning by Raven Chacon, the first American Indigenous composer to win the Pulitzer Prize for Music.
